Maritime industry is upgrading communication equipment for firefighters onboard vessels to comply with the new SOLAS Regulation II-2/10.10.4.

I spoke at a seminar held in Dubai about the challenges facing the industry in its pursuit to compliance, and some solutions available. Reliable communication is essential in dealing with emergencies, however the solution has to be fit for purpose. Firefighting application demands equipment that is rugged and usable by crew while wearing face masks, breathing apparatus and fire suits.

Meeting was organized by IMarEST UAE, and was attended by commercial and technical professionals from the industry.
